Scheurer Earns Academic Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University senior outfielder Bryan Scheurer (Portland/St. Patrick) has been named to the District IV Academic All-American team as selected by the College Sports Directors of America (CoSIDA).
An elementary education major with a 3.91 grade-point-average, Scheurer is hitting .373 for the Chippewas this season. He's ripped 17 doubles (tied for sixth best in school history), four triples and three homers, and has driven in 27 runs. Bryan has also stolen 18 bases.
Scheurer's name will now be on the Academic All-American ballot.
