MUNCIE--Rain and darkness proved to be a tough combination for the Central Michigan baseball team at the Mid-American Conference tournament on Wednesday.
First the Chippewas had to wait through an extended rain delay before starting their first round game against Bowling Green then darkness halted the game due to the late start.
The game was set to start at 12:30 p.m. (EST), but heavy rains pushed back the starting time to 4:30 p.m. The game progressed all the way to the bottom of the ninth inning before the game was stopped due to darkness.
The game will resume on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. (EST). When the game picks up, CMU holds a 20-15 advantage but Bowling Green is at bat with runners on first and third and one out.
Please note a complete game story will appear upon the conclusion of the game.
