Men's Cross Country Captures Gulden Invitational Title

LEWISBURG, Pennsylvania - Jake Flynn's (Benzonia/So.) first-place finish led the Central Michigan University men's cross country team to a first-place showing at the Gulden Invitational on Friday afternoon. Bucknell University was the host.

The Chippewas took the team honors on 26 points. Following CMU were: Canisius (53); Bucknell (57); Duquesne (101); Quinnipiac (148); IUPUI (159); Detroit (202); and Susquehanna (204).

Flynn captured the individual title with an 8k time of 24:58. Also scoring for the Chippewas were Luke Humphrey (Sidney/Jr.) in second at 25:01, Don Wilkins (Trenton/Jr.) was fourth in 25:14, Brian Terpak (Riverview/Sr.) took sixth in 25:21, Jacob Crowe (Grand Ledge/So.) finished in 13th in 25:45, Ron Miller (Stanton/Jr.) was 22nd in 26:07, and Matt Kaczor (Freeland/So.) was 25th in 26:13.

Jacques Henning and Chad Theuerkorn finished in 38th (26:34) and 54th (27:14), respectively.

The men return to action at the Pre-NCAA meet in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Saturday, October 19. Race time is set for 11 a.m.
