Men's Basketball Falls At Buffalo, 69-57

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Central Michigan men's basketball team couldn't slow Buffalo's three-point assault in the second half as the Chippewas lost at Buffalo, 69-57.
CMU drops to 7-10 overall with a 4-10 mark in Mid-American conference play. The Bulls up to 10-14 and 5-8 in conference action.
Chad Pleiness led the offense with 14 points. Whitney Robinson added 13 points while Gerrit Brigitha chipped in 10 off the bench. Robinson tallied his 1,000th career point in the game. He scored 779 at Eastern Kentucky. David Webber finished with eight points and eight rebounds. He managed to tally only one rebound in the second half.
Louis Campbell led the way for Buffalo with 19 points.
The two teams toiled in the first half with the Chippewas coming out on top at the break, 29-28. However, the second half belonged to the home team. The Bulls nailed eight treys in the second stanza en route to a 66.7 shooting percentage (8-for-12) from downtown in the second half. UB finished the game hitting on 50 percent (12-for-24) from three land. Louis Campbell had four of Buffalo's eight second-half threes and sparked the offense which mastered a 14-7 run at the 13.24 mark. Buffalo would never look back at that point as it wrapped up the game with a 12-point cushion.
The Chippewas lost despite shooting 51.2 percent (22-for-43) from the floor.
The Chippewas return home to host intrastate rival Eastern Michigan on Feb. 20. Tipoff in Rose Arena is set for 7 p.m.
