MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University's first home game in the new Theunissen Stadium was postponed by rain with two outs in the bottom of the fourth and the visiting Ohio Bobcats holding a 5-2 lead.
The Chippewas had scored twice in their half of the fourth and had two on and two out when the rains came. The umpires waited 40 minutes before calling it.
Ohio broke open a 0-0 tie in the top of the fourth with five runs off starter, two on a homer by Mike Arbinger and two more on a double by Jason Shockey.
CMU responded with two in the bottom of the fourth on an infield groundout by Scott Pickens and an RBI single by Ryan Krueger off OU's Chris Bova.
The game will start at noon on Saturday and then the two Mid-American Conference teams will begin their scheduled twinbill.
