Baseball tops Ontario in Exhibition.

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Central Michigan baseball team found its offensive punch on Friday afternoon as it topped the Ontario Blue Jays in an exhibition game, 10-4.
After jumping out to a 3-1 lead, the Blue Jays knotted the game at four in the sixth inning. But, a five-run sixth inning plus another run in seventh allowed CMU to cruise to the six-run win.
Travis Osborn belted a homer over the leftfield fence. He was 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. David Latour had a solid day at the plate going 3-for-5 on the day with two runs scored. Tim Groves was 3-for-4 with an RBI while Dan Griesbaum was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Jason Cairns shined from the mound. In two innings of work, he struckout four and walked only one. Jason Frank struckout all three batters he faced.
The Chippewas return to regular-season play with a doubleheader at Detroit tomorrow afternoon. First pitch is at 1 p.m. They return home to host the Titans for a single game at Theunissen Stadium on Sunday, April 21. First pitch on Sunday is at 2 p.m.
