MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University's baseball doubleheader with Ball State University scheduled for today has been canceled because of rain and wet grounds.
The two teams played two of the four games in the Mid-American Conference series with each team winning a game. Ball State won on Friday, 11-5, and the Chippewas captured a 1-0 decision in eight innings on Saturday before the rains came.
CMU has a single, nine-inning home game on tap with the University of Michigan on Tuesday at 2 p.m., while Oakland University comes to Theunissen Stadium on Wednesday for a twinbill beginning at 1 p.m.
The Chippewas close the regular season at the University of Toledo this weekend with four games on tap.
