Eastern Michigan Head Coach Jeff Woodruff:
No loss is a good loss. We played decent in the first half. I think that our defense was on the field so much that it just got tired. CMU controlled the time of possession in the second half.
Derrick Vickers is a good quarterback. I've known that some time. I've watched Derrick play the last three years. He's a quality player that could play for any team in our conference.
Anthony Sherrell had a tough afternoon. CMU had eight or nine players in the box and we didn't have enough people to block for Sherrell. He had to work hard for every yard.
CMU Head Coach Mike DeBord:
It is amazing to watch Jerry Seymour run the ball because he can do so many things. He is starting to learn our offense and the reads of the running game. We wanted to feature him today and he did an excellent job making plays for us.
Today was the first time this season that I saw Derrick Vickers having fun playing. Because he was having fun, he made some great reads and plays. I am happy for him because he has gone through a lot this season and he has persevered to help this team win today.
Our defense got some pressure on the quarterback today and that was important. When we got down by 10 early our coaching staff made some nice adjustments and we really shut them down in the second half.
