MOUNT PLEASANT - Snow and ice have forced the halt of yet another Central Michigan University baseball game slated for Wednesday, April 9, with Chicago State University.
That's the sixth straight game that the Chippewas have had called off because of the snow and ice storm from last week. CMU had four home games cancelled from this past weekend with Kent State University, and had today's game at Detroit postponed..
After four hours of work at trying to clear the field by the Chippewa baseball team on Tuesday, Wednesday's contest was postponed to a date to be determined..
The Chippewas should play their first game in more than a week on Thursday when IPFW comes to Theunissen Stadium for a game at 3 p.m..
CMU then has its Mid-American Conference home opener on Saturday with a single, nine-inning game against Bowling Green State University at 3 p.m. This year's Honorary "Fan of the Year," Bob Banta, will throw out the first pitch..
The Chippewas will also entertain BGSU on Sunday in another single, nine-inning game beginning at 1 p.m.
