MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University men's basketball guard J.R. Wallace may have just completed his season, but he was on hand to launch another last weekend.
Wallace threw out the first pitch at the opening ceremonies last weekend for the Chippewa Hills Little League.
The 6-0 guard from Muskegon was one of the many highlights during the opening day ceremonies of the league. Wallace threw out the first pitch and signed autographs at the little league fields in Mecosta.
"This was a great opportunity for J.R. and CMU athletics to be a part of an exciting day for these kids," said Nick Williams, assistant athletic director. "J.R. is an example of the quality student-athlete that we have at CMU and did an outstanding job of representing our Mid-American Conference champion men's basketball team. The kids were excited to see himand that made it a great day."
