CMU Soccer Posts a Third Straight Shutout

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University and ace goalie Anne Decker are proving difficult to score against.
The Chippewas captured a 3-0 Mid-American Conference victory here Friday over Northern Illinois University.
CMU is now 5-4-2 for the season and 3-1-2 in MAC action.
Decker, a sophomore, turned away five shots in posting her fourth shutout of the season. It was the 10th whitewashing of her young career, a school record.
CMU returns to action here Sunday with a game against Western Michigan at 1 p.m.
Sophomore Rosamaria Rago provided the Chippewas with all the offense they needed with a goal at 22:11. Junior Rachel Snyder assisted on the breakaway marker.
CMU made it 2-0 at 37:13 when junior Correy Cabrera scored on an assist from Alison Heydorn while freshman Laura Gaesser capped the scoring with her first career goal at 89.00 on an assist from Jacquie Lacek.
Losing goalie Carrie Dvorak had nine saves as CMU outshot the visitors, 21-6.
