Burroughs and Ferris Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio - A pair of Central Michigan University field hockey players were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team today.
The two players are senior Stasia Burroughs and junior Kim Ferris. It is the first Academic All-MAC honor for both.
Burroughs holds a 3.97 grade-point-average and is majoring in sports medicine. Ferris is a social work major with a 3.97 GPA.
Burroughs was the team leader in assists with eight this season, ranking her eighth on CMU's season record list. She was fourth on the team in points with 10. Burroughs scored her first career goal in the match with Michigan State. She has twice been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic Squad.
Ferris was a second team All-MAC selection, the first of her career. She helped anchor the Chippewa defense along with notching four assists. She helped the Chippewas limit their final four MAC opponents to just four goals as CMU finished the conference season 3-1 to earn the third seed in the MAC Tournament.
