MAC Champion Chippewas to be Honored

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University's 2004 Mid-American Conference regular-season baseball champions will be feted at the annual banquet on Tuesday, June 1, at the Riverwood Resort.

The event is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person.

The Chippewas finished the regular season with an 18-6 MAC mark but were eliminated in two games in the MAC tourney CMU is hosting.

Steve Jaksa was named MAC "Coach of the Year" and junior Jim Geldhof was named first team All-MAC. The Chippewas finished with a 33-24 mark, a marked improvement over 2003 when they went 25-28.
