Garner Signs With Milwaukee

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Former Central Michigan University right-handed pitcher Jeff Garner signed a professional contract with the Milwaukee Brewers and will be assigned a minor league team shortly.

The 6-2, 190-pounder from Hemlock had his career at CMU cut short in 2003 with an arm injury. In fact, Jeff pitched just once that season and defeated Michigan State, 9-2. He struck out 14 batters in seven innings and allowed two hits and one earned run. He was named the national "Pitcher of the Week" for his efforts.

Garner finished his career with a record of 17-13 with a 5.14 ERA. He struck out 186 batters in 206 innings.
