MOUNT PLEASANT - Former Central Michigan University football standout Brian Leigeb will be inducted into the Midland County Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 22.
Leigeb started 42 games at safety during his college career (1997-2000) and is CMU's all-time leader with 487 career tackles. He was a co-captain as a senior in 2000, a season in which he led the Mid-American Conference in tackles (13.4 per game) and garnered all-conference second team honors. An honorable mention all-state selection at Dow High School, Leigeb led CMU in tackles each of his four seasons in Mount Pleasant.
Leigeb spent four years in the professional ranks, including the 2002 season in which he appeared in 16 games for the Indianapolis Colts. With his playing days behind him, Leigeb returned to CMU and completed his degree in mechanical engineering technology. He now works for Mid-Michigan Masonry in Midland.
The Midland County Sports Hall of Fame will induct its 16th class of honorees during a banquet on Oct. 22 at the Admiral Room at Valley Plaza.
