Junior defensive end Daniel Bazuin collected his fourth and fifth sacks of the season and forced his third fumble of the year. Bazuin, a member of the Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award preseason watch lists, has recorded at least one sack in each of the season's first three games. He now has 14 career sacks, tied for eighth in CMU history.
True freshman Rick Albreski is now 4-of-6 on field goals this season. He hit a 31-yarder in the second quarter and missed a 48-yard kick in the third.
CMU fell to 2-15 all-time against the Big Ten.
Saturday's crowd of 100,276 is the second-largest ever to watch a CMU football game. The largest crowd ever to watch the Chippewas was 110,637 at Michigan in 2003.
Thomas Keith's interception was the first of his career.
