Eleven of the past 16 meetings between Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan have either been decided by seven points or less or gone to overtime. The Eagles have won two straight overtime games over CMU, including last season's 61-58, four-overtime contest at Ford Field.
EMU's win on Saturday marked the first time the Eagles had defeated CMU in back-to-back seasons since 1935 and 1936.
The Chippewas are 2-3 all-time in overtime, including 1-2 against Eastern Michigan.
True freshman Ontario Sneed ran for 122 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries. He also caught a career-high five passes for 56 yards. Sneed has eclipsed the 100-yard rushing plateau twice this season. He ran for 148 yards in the opener against Indiana.
Junior linebacker Doug Kress finished with a career-high 11 tackles. Isaac Brown's 10 tackles matched a career high.
