Women's Soccer Spring Schedule Is Set

MOUNT PLEASANT – Central Michigan University women’s soccer coach Tony DiTucci announced his team’s spring game schedule for 2007, featuring matches against several in-state rivals and the third annual CMU Soccer Alumni Weekend.
The Chippewas will host Alumni Weekend on February 24 and 25, welcoming back former players from both the women’s and men’s teams. The current squad will play three games during those two days – a Saturday match against the women’s alumni and two Sunday contests against Ferris State and the CMU men’s club team.
CMU will participate in the Lakes Area Showcase event held in Walled Lake, Mich. on Saturday, March 17. The showcase will feature collegiate games scheduled around a day of high school scrimmages at several schools in the area. CMU will face Ferris State and Oakland at this event.
The following weekend, CMU will host several in-state rivals for a day of matches inside the Indoor Athletic Complex turf bay. It will welcome Grand Valley State, Ferris State, Oakland and Western Michigan for a series of contests on Sunday, March 25.
CMU will wrap up the spring schedule with a match against Big Ten rival Michigan and a trip to Sylvania, Ohio for the Border Challenge Showcase. The contest with U-M will be held on Thursday, April 5 in Ann Arbor beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Chippewas will face Wright State and Toledo at the Border Challenge Showcase on Saturday, April 14.
