MOUNT PLEASANT Three special events highlight Central Michigan University’s final weekend series at Theunissen Stadium this season.
The Chippewas host rival Western Michigan for a three-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m. CMU and WMU will also play single games Saturday and Sunday, both beginning at 1 p.m.
Saturday is the program’s Alumni Reunion Day. Festivities begin at 9:30 a.m., when former Chippewas are invited to take a few cuts in the on-field batting cage or take the mound in the bullpen. Alumni must clear the field at 10:30 a.m. to make room for opponent batting practice.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. There is a $5 cost for lunch. All alumni in attendance will be lined up along the third base line and introduced to the crowd at 12:45 p.m.
Tours of Theunissen Stadium and Keilitz Clubhouse will also be available to the alumni.
Sunday’s game will be Senior Day and Little League Day. The Chippewas’ six seniors will be introduced prior to first pitch, and all the players will be available for autographs following the game.
Comcast Local will also be televising Sunday’s game live.
As a reminder, due to a campus-wide power shutdown this weekend, live stats and live video of the weekend’s games may not be available. Fans will be able to watch the games on demand through the CMU Sports Zone following the conclusion of each game.
CMU (30-17 overall, 17-4 Mid-American Conference) enters the weekend in second place in the conference standings.
