Bryan Mitzel recorded his 200th career RBI in the second inning. He is the first Chippewa to drive in 200 runs. He also posted his school-record 59th career double.
Josh Collmenter worked 7-2/3 innings in the loss. He has now pitched 301-1/3 innings this season, the third-most of any pitcher in school history. His 116-1/3 innings pitched in 2007 are one-third of an inning short of Ty Dunham’s record 116-2/3 innings in 2005.
CMU is 3-6 all-time against
The Chippewas had won two straight, and four of their last five, MAC Tournament openers prior to Wednesday’s loss.
Billy Anderson was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, extending his hitting streak to 17 games. He is tied with five other players for the sixth-longest hitting streak in school history.
CMU is 19-22 all-time in the MAC Tournament.
