Men's Cross Country Honored by NCAA

MOUNT PLEASANT The Central Michigan University men’s cross country team has received a public recognition award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The NCAA is honoring programs which have posted multi-year Academic Progress Rate scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of a broad Division I academic reform effort. Those receiving the award posted APR scores ranging from 975 to a perfect 1,000.
The men’s cross country team was the only CMU team recognized by the NCAA this year. A total of 839 teams were recognized nationally, representing 217 Division I colleges and universities. There are 326 institutions that compete in NCAA Division I athletics.
Craig Fuller completed his 18th season as head coach in 2006. The Chippewas finished second at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
