2008 Annual University Campaign Underway

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The 2008 Annual University Campaign (AUC) is currently underway and all faculty, staff and retirees of the university have the opportunity to increase the value of their gift.
The AUC which officially began on Oct. 13 will run until Dec. 5. During this time period the president’s office will match gifts and pledges that are made by the campus community (faculty, staff and retirees) at .50 cents on the dollar. Because of the added benefit during this time period, members of the campus community are encouraged to get involved at any level.
Pledges do not need to be fulfilled until our June 30, 2009. Membership deadline and payments will be applied to the 2009-10 Chippewa Club membership.
Last year, the CMU athletics department set the standard for participation in the AUC. CMU Athletics was the first department to reach 100% participation among its employees in the history of the campaign.
As illustrated in the chart above, last year a total of $181,179.80 was donated by our campus community, the president’s match amounted to an additional $90,591.50, bringing our CAF campaign total to $271,771.30. This total represented nearly a quarter of the CAF’s annual fundraising dollars.
The AUC is a great time for members of the campus community to share their Chippewa Club experiences with colleagues and encourage them to get involved. Grassroots efforts are essential to the continued academic and athletic success of CMU student-athletes. All current Chippewa Club members who are a part of the university community are encouraged to contact Craig Willey or Hannah Smoker in the Chippewa Athletic Fund office with the information of any colleagues or retirees they feel might be interested taking advantage of the benefits of being a Chippewa Club member. The CAF staff will be more than happy to follow-up with all contacts via a phone call or personal visit.
Current faculty and staff members can participate online by going to https://portal.cmich.edu/default.aspx. Once prompted to enter a global id and password scroll down and click on the AUC link. The online gift form will open with preloaded personal information. Once the submit button is clicked the information will be sent to the gift processing office.
