Gold Takes Fall World Series Game One, 10-0

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Gold squad took game one of the Central Michigan baseball Fall World Series Classic on Friday, 10-0 at Theunissen Stadium.
Devan Kline tossed six innings of one-hit ball to earn the victory, fanning eight Maroon batters.
Offensively, Gold was led by Rhett Goodmiller, who went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, two stolen bases and a double. Sam Russel went 3-for-3 with a pair of steals, and Tom Howard hit a three-run home run. James Teas also added three RBI.
The two sides will square off again tomorrow in game two, with the first pitch scheduled for noon. Senior Chris Kupillas will face junior Bryce Morrow on the mound. CMU welcomes fans, friends and family to join them in a postgame picnic following tomorrow's action. Admission to the Fall World Series Classic is free.
