Martin Named to NSCAA/adidas All-Great Lakes Region Team

MOUNT PLEASANT Junior midfielder Stephanie Martin (Chesterfield Township, Mich./Regina HS) from the Central Michigan soccer team has been named to the All-Great Lakes Region third team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Martin finished the season among the Mid-American Conference’s leaders in several offensive categories, registering 20 points (tied for third in the MAC) on eight goals (t-third) and four assists while firing a MAC-leading 97 shots. Four of her goals were game-winners (t-second) She earned first team All-MAC honors for the third straight season and Academic All-MAC for the second year in a row.
This season, Martin became the Chippewas’ all-time leading goal scorer with her 25th career tally in the regular season finale against Eastern Michigan. She will enter her senior season next fall with 64 career points, one shy of the school record. Her 14 career assists are the fourth-most at CMU, five helpers shy of the all-time mark.
This is the first time Martin has been named to the all-region team. She was the only MAC-player to make any of the squads.
