Baseball America Tabs Chippewas As Division Favorite

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Baseball America has tabbed the Central Michigan University baseball team as the favorite to win the Mid-American Conference West Division.
The publication has the Chippewas edging out Northern Illinois for the division crown, but lists Kent State as the only projected NCAA Tournament team. The Golden Flashes are projected as the East Division champion.
CMU also boasts four members of Baseball America’s preseason all-conference squad. First baseman Sean Hoorelbeke, outfielder Tyler Stovall and designated hitter Billy Anderson join Dan Taylor from the pitching staff as preseason honorees. Andrew Thomas is also projected as one of the MAC’s top newcomers.
CMU’s April 11-13 series against Miami was also tabbed the best regular-season series in the Midwest region.
