Stovall Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University senior outfielder Tyler Stovall has been named Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 11.
Stovall batted .381 (8-for-21) with two doubles and three home runs while collecting seven RBI in five games against Coppin State, Pittsburgh and Western Michigan. He posted a .905 slugging percentage to go with a .458 on-base percentage giving him a 1.363 OPS. Stovall also stole a base and scored nine runs.
Stovall maintains a 3.81 grade-point average as a personal financial planning major.
The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
