Field Hockey Announces 2010 Recruiting Class

MOUNT PLEASANT — Central Michigan head field hockey coach Cristy Freese announced the program’s 2010 recruiting class on Friday.

Joining the Chippewas this fall are Jamie Cutter (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley HS), Carissa Flocken (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS), Alexis Gersbach (Allentown, Pa./Parkland HS), Julianna Makrinos (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township HS), Bailey McKeon (Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley HS), Allie Redilla (Mount Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley HS), Ellen Riley (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Du Pont Manual HS), Abby Roth (Warrensburg, N.Y./Warrensburg HS) and Skylar VanNatta (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS)

	Jamie Cutter Goalkeeper Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley HS High School: Lettered three times … named Pequea Valley Athlete of the Week during her senior season … played for the Lanco Premier Indoor Field Hockey Team at the club level … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … was vice president of the student council. Personal: Parents are Jill and Scott Cutter … plans to major in sports studies.
	Carissa Flocken Goalkeeper Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS High School: Served as team captain as a senior … posted a 1.22 goals against average, .800 save percentage and seven shutouts in 2009 … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … named honorable mention all-state as a junior … voted team’s defensive MVP as a junior … three-year varsity starter … also competed in water polo. Personal: Parents are Melissa and Craig Flocken … plans to major in criminal justice.
	Alexis Gersbach Midfielder Allentwon, Pa./Parkland HS High School: Served as team captain her senior year … named honorable mention all-state in 2009 … led team to the state final four in 2009 … three-year varsity starter … also played soccer and basketball … member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Personal: Parents are Kris Gersbach and Tom Gersbach … plans to major in nursing.
	Julianna Makrinos Midfielder/Forward Venetia, Pa./Peters Township HS High School: Served as team captain as a junior and senior … led the team with 16 goals and nine assists during her junior season … team won the 2009 WPIAL Field Hockey Championship … earned all-league honors … also started on the lacrosse team for two years … National Honor Society member. Personal: Parents are Suzanne and John Makrinos … plans to major in actuarial science.
	Bailey McKeon Forward/Midfielder Fleetwood, Pa./Oley Valley HS High School: Named to the 2009 all-state academic team … finished the season ranked among the top 10 scorers in the county … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … earned four varsity letters … also earned all-county honors in both basketball and softball … National Honor Society member. Personal: Parents are Lisa and John McKeon … plans to major in communication disorders.
	Allie Redilla Back/Midfield Mount Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley HS High School: Named the team’s most improved player in 2007 … three-year varsity starter … named second-team all-county in 2008 … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … National Honor Society member. Personal: Parents are Tracy and Thomas Redilla … plans to major in education with a concentration on English.
	Ellen Riley Forward/Midfield Louisville, Ky./Louisville Du Pont Manual HS High School: Served as team captain in 2009 … named all-state and all-district in 2009 … lettered four times and started for two years … led the team in scoring as a senior … played for the International Field Hockey Club of Kentucky … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … also lettered once in lacrosse. Personal: Parents are John and Kathy Riley … plans on majoring in environmental studies or accounting.
	Abby Roth Forward/Midfield Warrensburgh, N.Y./Warrensburgh HS High School: Started on varsity all four years … earned all-state and all-tournament honors as a senior … USA Field Hockey futures program participant … National Honor Society member … also competed in wrestling and softball. Personal: Parents are Bonni and Kevin Roth … plans to major in criminal justice.
	Skylar VanNatta Midfield/Back Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS High School: Scored 11 goals and dished out eight assists in 2009 … USA Field Hockey Futures Elite Team selection … named first-team all-conference twice and earned second-team honors once … served as team captain as a senior … National Honor Society member … also played lacrosse and basketball.
