Toth Named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT — Junior defender Liesel Toth from the Central Michigan soccer team was named the Mid-American Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Toth played all 180 minutes in CMU’s 1-0 shutout victories over Wright State and IPFW over the weekend. The Chippewas held their opponents to only six shots in the two contests and were particularly dominant on Sunday, limiting IPFW to only one shot attempt.
This is the first time that Toth has earned the weekly MAC award in her career.
Toth and the Chippewas return to action on Friday when they take on Northern Iowa in the Iowa Tournament.
