Although the CMU Women's Basketball team's recent victory over the visiting Akron Zips was significant in moving the Chippewas closer to a MAC title, the Upper Club Lounge at McGuirk Arena witnessed a cause for celebration greater than any single game.
January 29 was the annual Women's Basketball Alumnae Day hosted by the Chippewa Athletic Fund. It was a day filled with activities that served to recognize the program and the ladies who blazed a trail and laid a foundation for current and future success.
From a display of some of the greatest moments in CMU Women's Basketball history on the brand new McGuirk Arena video scoreboard, to an on-court recognition of our returning alums it was a day to remember.
Former Chippewas Rachel Oswald, Ann Skufca, Britni Houghton and Vershaun Jones even got to re-live their playing days during an on-court halftime competition.
Following the game, current players and coaches visited with our returning alums in the McGuirk Arena Upper Club Lounge.
