Tigers Hand Chippewas 14-7 Setback

COLUMBIA, Mo -- A fast start for the second straight game helped Missouri claim a 14-7 decision over Central Michigan in the second game of a four-game series at Taylor Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers (9-9) scored five in the first and four in the seventh and eighth to hold off the Chippewas (8-11).

Tyler Hall had three hits and Matt Stevens drove in three runs for the Maroon and Gold. Sal Belfonte knocked in three runs for the Tigers.

Matt Stites (1-1) picked up the win, fanning eight in seven innings of work while giving up two runs on five hits. Bryce Morrow (0-2) took the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and four walks.

Game two of Saturday's doubleheader was pushed back to Sunday at 11 a.m., due to weather.
