Cross Country Teams Hold Steady in Region Rankings

MOUNT PLEASANT – Despite not competing at a meet over the weekend, both the men's and women's cross country teams held steady at 12th and 13th, respectively, in the Great Lakes Region rankings released Monday morning by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
This week's rankings reflect the same positions for both Central Michigan teams as in last week's rankings.
The men are ranked second among MAC teams, behind Eastern Michigan at number seven, while the women are fourth behind third-ranked Toledo, ninth-ranked Miami and No. 12 Eastern Michigan.
Regional rankings are released by the USTFCCCA every Monday morning, and the national rankings are released the following day.
Both teams will next be in action at the Notre Dame Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind. Friday Sept. 30, at 2 p.m., where they will look to move up in next week's rankings.
