Central Michigan to Conclude Regular Season at Home vs. BGSU

| MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan will close out its regular season schedule under first-year head coach Peter McGahey on Thursday at the CMU Soccer Complex as the Chippewas take on Bowling Green State at 3 p.m. The Chippewas will host its MAC quarterfinal matchup at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3 against a team to be determined. • The Chippewas fell to defending MAC Tournament Champions Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Oct. 25 in a 1-0 effort after giving up a 4th minute goal to the RedHawks. Miami’s goal broke CMU’s four-game consecutive shutout streak and was the first goal allowed by the Chippewas in 389 minutes of playing time. • Central Michigan bounced back from Sunday when senior forward Nicole Samuel delivered the game winning goal in the 103rd minute to give the Chippewas a 1-0 double overtime win on Senior Day over Ball State. The goal marked the second score of the season for Samuel and eighth of her career. • Grace Labrecque played all 180 minutes over the weekend, posting six saves against Miami and one save in the shutout win over Ball State. Labrecque is tied for second in the MAC in shutouts with six this season. • Bowling Green (0-14-2, 0-8-2 MAC) aims to win its first game of the season under first year head coach Lindsay Basalyga. The Falcons lost to Ball State 2-0 at home last Friday night. BGSU recorded its second tie of the season at home on Senior Day against Miami (Ohio) in a 1-0 effort last Sunday. • The Falcons are lead offensively this season by senior midfielders Madeline Wideman and Kaitlyn Tobin. Wideman has tallied three goals and leads the team in assists (3), points (9), shots (36), and shots on goal (15). Tobin also has also posted three goals this season, one being in Sunday’s tie against Miami. • The Falcons have featured three different freshman goalies in net this season. Lauren Cadel has made the most starts this season with 14. Cadel recorded the lone shutout for Bowling Green this season against Northern Illinois on Oct. 11 in a 0-0 tie. • The Chippewas clinched the honor of hosting a 2013 MAC Tournament quarterfinal contest after Sunday’s win over Ball State. The game will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 3 at the CMU Soccer Complex. Central Michigan’s opponent for its playoff matchup will be determined after Thursday’s results from around the conference. • Listed below are the current eight teams who have clinched spots in the 2013 MAC Championship along with each team’s seeding scenarios coming into Thursday’s games.
