| MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan soccer team will face West Virginia on Friday, Aug. 30 at 5:30 p.m. and Pittsburgh on Sunday, Sep. 1 at 12 p.m. “Quote” • CMU began their 2013 season under first-year head coach Peter McGahey with a 2-2 draw against Detroit on Aug 25. at home. • Laura Gosse and Jennifer Gassman lead the scoring attack for Central Michigan both tallying a goal each in their season opener. • CMU outshot Detroit 23-11 including 5-1 in two overtime periods, and had a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. • West Virginia is ranked 10th in Soccer America's Top 25 after earning a 1-0-1 reult at the Penn State Invitational. The Mountaineers tied with Penn State 2-2 on Aug. 23 and defeated Syracuse 2-1 on Aug. 25. • Pittsburgh won their season opener 1-0 at Duquesne on Aug. 25. The Panthers were lead by Goalkeeper Nicole D'Agostino recording five saves. D'Agostino ranked third in the Big East Conference with 87 saves in 2012. • The Chippewas trip to Morgantown begins a 6-game road campaign. CMU returns home on Friday, Sep. 20 against Dayton. | |
