Heeke Named Chair of NCAA Division I Baseball Committee

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan University Director of Athletics Dave Heeke has been appointed chair of the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
“It is a great honor to be selected the chair of this committee,” Heeke said. “I look forward to tackling some important issues over the next year and working to make sure every baseball student-athlete has an excellent experience during his collegiate career.”
Heeke was in the midst of his second term on the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee before being elected as chair in July. He also served from 2006-08. Heeke also served on the Division I Football Issues Committee from 2008-2013, serving as chair in his final year on the committee.
The committee is charged with managing college baseball's championship playoff and dealing with issues that affect the sport. Major missions of the committee are to select the teams and sites for the championship and manage the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
Heeke began his term as chair on September 1.
In his eight years of directing Central Michigan Athletics, Heeke’s vision of a “Championship Culture” has been realized through athletic success, academic excellence, national media exposure, record fundraising and a commitment to facilities.
