Reed Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Zoie Reed has been named the Mid American Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Reed, a freshman from Woodbridge, Conn., posted two shutouts over the weekend as the Chippewas tied Eastern Michigan, 0-0, and beat Bowling Green, 1-0, in overtime.
Reed made four saves in each match and kept the Chippewas' opponents scoreless for 207 minutes and 15 seconds of game time.
Reed has posted five shutouts in 10 starts this season. Reed ranks third in the MAC with 5.25 saves per game and is fourth among conference keepers with three shutouts in MAC matches.
CMU is 4-7-2 overall, 3-2-1 MAC and goes on a MAC road trip to Akron (Friday) and Buffalo (Sunday) this weekend.
