Five Chippewas Named All-MAC in Soccer

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Five Central Michigan student-athletes were named to the All-Mid-American Conference 2015 women's soccer honor squad.
Eliza Van de Kerkhove was named to the All-MAC Second Team, while four Chippewas earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
Van de Kerkhove, a junior mid from Ann Arbor, scored three goals and logged 22 shots on goal and 39 shots - both team highs. She started all 19 games. Two of her goals were game-winners.
CMU's Mary Carlson, Lexi Pelafas, Madison Pogarch and Zoie Reed each earned a spot on the all-freshman squad.
Carlson, a defender from Grand Rapids, had one assist on the season.
Pelafas, a forward/mid from Wheaton, Ill., scored a team-high four goals and shared the team lead with eight points.
Pogarch, who hails from Hartland, collected seven points (two goals and three assists).
Reed, of Woodbridge, Conn., went 6-8-2 in goal for the Chippewas, finishing with 71 saves and a 1.25 goals against average. She posted six shutouts.
Central Michigan was the lone institution to have more than one player named to the all-freshman team.
