4 Chippewas Place at University Nationals

AKRON, Ohio -- Four members of the Central Michigan Regional Training Center placed in the USA Wrestling Freestyle University Nationals last weekend at the University of Akron.
All four -- Brent Fleetwood, Corey Keener, Colin Heffernan and Michael Ottinger -- are members of the Central Michigan University wrestling team.
Twenty-one Chippewa wrestlers, representing the Central Michigan Regional Training Center, participated in the annual event.
Former Central Michigan wrestler Jarod Trice, a three-time All-American at CMU, won the Greco-Roman title at 98 kilograms (216 pounds) and was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
Keener (61 KG/134.2 pounds) and Ottinger (80/176) placed fourth in their respective weight classes, while Fleetwood (57/125.4) was sixth, and Heffernan (70/154) was eighth.
Ottinger finished 8-2 in the tournament, Heffernan went 5-3, Keener was 5-2, and Fleetwood posted a 4-3 mark.
