Kleam, Allmacher Lead Chippewa Runners

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Logan Kleam and Samantha Allmacher were the top Central Michigan finishers Friday at the Oakland Golden Grizzly Short Course Dual.
The races were run at half the distance of a normal collegiate cross country event, the men ran a 4K, the women a 3K.
The event featured several unattached runners and former student-athletes from both CMU and Oakland.
Kleam finished fourth in the men's race in 12 minutes, 19 seconds. Oakland's Bryce Stroede was first in 11:59.
Allmacher was ninth, 11:09, in the women's event. Oakland's Rachel Levy was first in 10:24.
Also for the CMU men, Luke Anderson was fifth (12:22), Mark Beckmann was seventh (12:32), Alec Omell was ninth (12:43) and Bransen Stimpfel was 10th (12:44). Kleam, Anderson and Beckmann ran unattached.
For the Chippewa women, Hannah Davis was 10th (11:19), Esther Bell was 11th (11:25), Michaela Bundy was 12th (11:29) and Abby Van Allsburg was 13th (11:34).
The dual served as a tune-up for the Chippewas, who will compete on Saturday, Oct. 15, in the Pre-National Invitational at Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind.
