15 Chippewas on Academic All-MAC Soccer Team

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan women's soccer team placed 15 of its members on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team.
The Chippewas placed more student-athletes on the squad than any of the league's 11 other members.
The Chippewas, with their year, grade point average and major: Savannah Beetcher, junior, 3.84, exercise science/kinesiology; Mary Carlson, sophomore, 3.78, undecided; Christen Chiesa, senior, 4.00, exercise science/kinesiology; Madison Costner, sophomore, 3.66, undecided; Kaylin Hoomaian, senior, 3.99, exercise science/kinesiology; Kristen Knutson, senior, 3.90, sports administration (graduate); Shannon Magnan, sophomore, 3.54, undecided; Samantha Maher, Central Michigan, senior, 3.34, exercise science/kinesiology; McKay Matheson, junior, 3.74, mechanical engineering; Madison Pogarch, sophomore, 3.32, undecided; Taylor Potts, senior, 3.34, physical education; Jamie Rademacher, sophomore, 3.21, sociology/social & criminal justice; Lauren Sherry, junior, 3.37, human resources management; Meghan Sweeney, junior, 3.48, exercise science/kinesiology; Eliza Van de Kerkhove, senior, 3.88, outdoor & environmental recreation.
It marked the third consecutive year that Chiesa, Hoomaian, Van de Kerkhove and Maher have earned Academic All-MAC honors, and the second consecutive year that Beetcher, Matheson and Sherry have.
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 grade point average or better and appear in at least 50 percent of her team's games. Freshman and first-year transfers are ineligible.
