MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Four members of the Central Michigan soccer team have received All-Mid-American Conference honors.
CMU's Alexis Pelafas, Eliza Van de Kerkhove, Madison Pogarch and Marle Bringard were named to the honor squad, which was released on Thursday.
Pelafas and Van de Kerkhove were named to the first team, Pogarch earned a spot on the second team, and Bringard was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Pelafas, a sophomore forward from Wheaton, Ill., set CMU single-season records for goals (16) and points (35). Her goal total leads the MAC and is tied for fourth nationally. She ranks second in the MAC with 35 points behind league offensive player of the year Jenna Hellstrom of Kent State (36).
Pelafas has 20 career goals, which ties her for sixth in CMU history.
Van de Kerkhove, a senior mid from Ann Arbor, has three goals and four assists for 10 points. Pogarch, a sophomore forward from Hartland, has posted three assists on the season.
Bringard, a freshman mid from Midland, has scored two goals this season, both game-winners in MAC games on the road, and posted five assists.
Last season, Van de Kerkhove earned second team honors while Pelafas and Pogarch were named to the all-freshman squad.
The Chippewas (15-2-3) play at Kent State (13-2-2) at 7 p.m. Friday in a MAC Tournament semifinal game.
