MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan wrestling coach Tom Borrelli has announced his 2016 signing class.
The class comprises eight wrestlers, seven of whom hail from the state of Michigan. All eight sport highly accomplished resumés on both the high school and USA Wrestling mats.
Five of the wrestlers - Sean Sterling of Dundee, Jared Roehl of Millington, Andrew Marten of Tecumseh, Collin Lieber of Lexington, and Brock Bergelin of Denmark, Wis. - have signed national letters of intent.
Three others have signed a Chippewa Letter of Intent. They are Kameron Bush of Grandville, Nicholas Jenkins of Westland, and Nolan Saxton of Lakeview.
"This was the choice school for all of them, they want to be here," said Borrelli, who is in his 25th year in charge of the Chippewa program. "All of them made sacrifices to be here and I think that says that down the road they're going to represent us well.
"They're really, really good students and I think they have the potential to be really, really good college wrestlers."
