MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Heather Cato has joined the Central Michigan women's soccer program as an assistant coach.
Cato has served as a head coach at both the NCAA Division II and Division III levels and worked as an assistant at the Division I level.
"We're very excited to have Heather join our Chippewa Soccer Family," CMU head coach Peter McGahey said. "Her energy and passion for developing the whole student-athlete are directly in line with our program's mission and values.
"Heather brings a diversity of coaching and leadership experiences that will help enhance all areas of our Championship Culture."
Cato will serve under McGahey as the Director of External Affairs, handling recruiting, video coordination, scouting and scheduling. On the field, Cato will mentor the Chippewas' goalkeepers and attacking players.

She also has extensive experience in the youth/club coaching ranks.
Cato was a four-year starter at Arkansas from 1996-99 and played on the U.S. Women's National U-20 Team. She ranks as the seventh all-time leading scorer in Razorback history with 24 career goals.
