3 Chippewas Earn Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Three Central Michigan student-athletes were named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
CMU's Corey Keener, Zach Horan and Justin Oliver were named to the squad, which comprises wrestlers who won 60 percent of their matches during the 2015-16 season and who attain a 3.2 or better grade point average.
Horan, who wrestled at 141 pounds, is a senior; Keener, a junior who wrestled at 133; and Oliver is a redshirt freshman who earned All-America honors by placing seventh at 149 pounds in the NCAA Championships.
Keener and Horan were both NCAA Championships qualifiers.
Oliver was one of 36 All-Americans who was named to the NWCA team, which comprised 116 student-athletes overall.
CMU's three selections tied Kent State and Missouri for the most among Mid-American Conference programs.
