MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Cooper Rush and Josh Cox received individual accolades from the Mid-American Conference for their performances Saturday in the Chippewas' 30-27 upset of 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State before 52,523 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.
Rush, a senior quarterback, was named the West Division Offensive Player of the Week; Cox, a junior cornerback, was named the West Defensive Player of the Week. It is the first time that either player has earned weekly MAC honors.
Rush completed 30 of 42 passes for 361 yards and four touchdowns. His 51-yard Hail Mary with no time remaining went for the game-winning TD, giving CMU its second win over a ranked team in program history.
It marked the fourth time in Rush's career that he has thrown at least four TD passes, and it was the 11th time, in 38 career starts, that he has thrown for at least 300 yards.
Cox led the Chippewas with a nine tackles including seven solos - both totals are career highs -- and an interception, the third of his career.
