SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan women's soccer team will play two Mid-American Conference games this weekend at home. First, on Thursday (6 p.m.), against Northern Illinois (8-6-1, 5-3 MAC); on Sunday (1 p.m.), the Chippewas take on Western Michigan (8-6-1, 3-4-1).
LAST WEEK
The Chippewas (6-7-3, 1-5-2) dropped MAC matches, both on the road, to Miami (Ohio) and Ball State.
CHIPPEWA LEADERS
• Junior Lexi Pelafas leads the MAC in goals with 12 and in shots with 78. She recorded three shots and an assist against Miami. Pelafas is tied for seventh nationally in goals.
• CMU goalkeeper Zoie Reed has recorded 65 saves.
• Madison Pogarch has four assists to lead Central Michigan. She is tied for seventh in the league.
SCOUTING
• Northern Illinois split a pair of MAC games last week, falling 1-0 to Kent State and topping Ohio, 1-0.
• Lauren Gierman leads the Huskies with 10 points (two goals, six assists). Taylor Sarver and Haley Hoppe have the lead in goals with three apiece.
• Western Michigan has lost two straight games, the first 2-1 to Ohio and the second, 1-0, to Kent State.
• Stephanie Heber has tallied 70 saves in goal for the Broncos.
• Grace Labadie has nine points (four goals, one assist) to lead WMU.
