Five Sign On With CMU Wrestling

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan wrestling coach Tom Borrelli has announced the signing of five student-athletes who will join the Chippewa program in the 2018-19 season.
The class includes four wrestlers from Michigan high schools and a fifth from Ohio.
Two of those wrestlers, Mitchel Christensen of Essexville and Benjamin Cushman of Flushing, were Michigan high school state individual champions last spring. Christensen in Division III at 112 pounds for Garber High School, and Cushman in Division II at 197 pounds for Flushing High School.
Two others, Corbyn Munson of Chelsea and Dustin Gross of Dearborn Heights, were individual state runners-up in Michigan a year ago.
Shupp is a senior at Fairfield High School in Ohio and is a three-time Ohio High School Athletic Association state qualifier.
"We're really happy to get these guys," Borrelli said. "They're the right fit for our program and they fit the weight-class needs in the future. It's a really good class. We think these are the right types of kids for our program."
