Oliver Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Justin Oliver has been named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week.

Oliver, a junior from Davison, went 4-0 to win his weight class in the open division on Sunday at the Michigan State Open.

He opened with a 16-1 technical fall over Gabe Grahek of Wisconsin, then downed Dom Demas of Oklahoma, 11-7. Oliver topped Davion Jeffries, also of Oklahoma, 10-3, in a semifinal match, and in the title bout, Oliver took a 4-3 decision from Ryan Deakin of Northwestern.

Oliver is ranked seventh nationally, while Deakin is ranked 12th.
