Jipping Earns All-District Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Daniel Jipping has been named to the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors Academic All-District 5 Baseball Team.
Jipping is one of three outfielders and 11 players total from Division schools on the All-District 5 team. The junior finance major from Plymouth, Mich. carries a 3.94 grade point average.
Jipping ranks second on the Chippewas with a .308 batting average. He is tied for the Mid-Amercan Conference home run lead with 10, and ranks second in the conference with 47 RBI.
The Chippewas are 23-20 overall and 11-4 in the MAC. They lead the MAC West Division by two games over Eastern Michigan, and trail East-leading Kent State (12-3) by one game for the overall lead league.
CMU opens a three-game league series at home on Friday (3:05 p.m.) against Northern Illinois.
