Hankins Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Tyler Hankins was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week.
Hankins, a freshman left-hander from Bartlett, Ill., came within one out of his third complete game of the season in a 3-1 MAC victory over Northern Illinois on Sunday.
Hankins struck out four, walked one and allowed seven hits in going 8 2/3 innings. He improved to 5-1 on the season and lowered his earned run average to 3.70.
The Chippewas play at Michigan on Tuesday (6 p.m.) and then entertain the Wolverines on Wednesday (4:05 p.m.).
