Soccer Looks To Maintain Momentum In Nonconference Finale

SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan soccer team will entertain Mount St. Mary's its final nonconference contest at the CMU Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday (noon).
The Chippewas will celebrate Senior Day in a pregame ceremony beginning 20 minutes before kickoff.
LAST WEEK
CMU won for the fourth time in five starts, topping Detroit Mercy, 2-0, at home. The Chippewas are 4-2-1.
Lexi Pelafas and Marle Bringard each scored for the Chippewas against the Titans. Madison Pogarch had two assists.
Chippewa goalkeeper Zoie Reed made five saves against Detroit Mercy in posting her second shutout of the season.
CHIPPEWA NOTES
Madison Costner leads Central Michigan with nine points (four goals, one assist). Lexi Pelafas ranks second with three goals and one assist.
Reed has recorded a Mid-American Conference-best 39 saves this season. She is averaging 5.57 per game, which ranks second in the league.
The Chippewas lead the MAC in shots per game (16.43) and rank second in goals (12) and goals per game (1.71).
CMU has outscored its opponents, 12-8, this season; has outshot the opposition by a combined 115-91; and has taken 41 corner kicks to its opponents' 26. The Chippewas hold an 84-54 edge in shots in their last five games.
